In April, prospective contractors will be able to bid on the development of a new 43-acre industrial rail yard off Whitefish Stage Road, with construction poised to break ground by July.
Officials with Flathead County Economic Development are preparing to accept bids on the Glacier Rail Park project, which will include building water, road, sewer and other utilities, as well as a new rail line in the former gravel pit site. The park was originally estimated to cost $21 million and will open up additional opportunities for rail-served businesses while freeing up downtown by removing the downtown tracks.
